PROPS NEEDED: A Clear Wall Space + 1 Block

Resistance training anyone? Closed chain movements are movements where the extremity, in this case, the hand or the forearm, is fixed in space and/or in contact with something that cannot move. These types of movements are known to add compressive forces to our joints which improve stability, mobility, strength, and resilience. In closed chain exercises, we engage more of our neurological and physiological tissues through the proprioceptive system (the system that enables us to sense our body, and that regulates and processes inputs and responses). We use the wall a lot in this class to close the endpoints which adds an incredible challenge to our mobility drills and training. We also use a block for a fun rolling and balancing pattern. Leave this one feeling connected and strong.

Cautions: Wrist loading, shoulder loading.
